An independent committee, as chosen by the Club executive, makes the selections. Please send application details to president@bellwarriors.ca.  Jim Wagdin was a coach with the Bell Warriors for 24 years and retired from the club as President in 2012.  His commitment to the Warriors and his community reflect the values the Warriors want to reinforce in our players with this post-secondary scholarship program.  Since the Warriors introduced the program, $30,000 has been given to ex-Warrior players to support their scholastic goals and aspirations. An applicant will only be eligible for selection for the scholarship a maximum of two times. The only exceptions will be:

(i) The independent committee deems an application does not meet the three selection criteria and/or
(ii) An insufficient number of eligible applications are received prior to the deadline.

Michael Polito Partners with the Warriors with NEW Lend A Hand Program

Paul Stewart President of The Bell Warriors Football Club and Michael Polito of Mortgage Brokers Ottawa are pleased to announce an innovative new partnership agreement that will go above and beyond the usual one time donation scenario.  Michael Polito’s ‘Lend a Hand Program’ will make a cash donation back to The Bell Warriors Football Club every time a new potential mortgage client identifies themselves as a member of the Bell Warriors Family.

It has been my privilege to be a volunteer for the Bell Warriors for many years and this new sponsorship partnership is the right thing to do.  I’m coming on board as a Gold Sponsor immediately but the sky is the limit in terms of donating above and beyond.  It’s the right thing to do.  For more information you can contact me at www.mikepolito.ca.”

‘Lend A Hand’ Program and Gold Sponsor Michael Polito with Paul Stewart, Bell Warriors Football Club President

Paul Stewart, President of the Bell Warriors Football Club, states “The Bell Warriors Football Club is enjoying our 60th anniversary this year of providing youth football programs for boys and girls.  Player fees cover less than 40% of our overall budget so we rely heavily on community partners to step up.  Mike Polito’s innovative approach to give back to our football program is based on a model that many other service providers could consider adopting. It’s sustainable, generous, thoughtful and the Warriors want to thank our newest Gold Sponsor Michael Polito for stepping up by giving back to the Warriors.”

For 60 years, the Bell Warriors Football Club has offered football programs for boys and girls ages 8-19 in the communities of Britannia, Bayshore, Bells Corners, Richmond, Munster and Stittsville.  Tryouts for their tackle football program are just underway.  For more information about the Bell Warriors program, email info@bellwarriors.ca.  You can also follow the Warriors on Twitter @BellWarriors1 or check out their new website at www.bellwarriors.ca for more details.

Car Wash & BBQ Fundraiser a Huge Success!

Monsterous THANK YOU to OK Tire in Bells Corners for hosting and sponsoring our Car Wash and BBQ Fundraiser yesterday.  Over 20 Warriors volunteered their time to give back to their community.  Nicely done lads!

The  weather was perfect and when it was all said and done, we raised enough money to buy two brand-new Riddell Speed Helmets for our tackle football program! Thanks to Bells Corners Loblaws for their donation to our BBQ and our very own Ken and Carmen Schwartz who quarterbacked the event for the Warriors.
