Decades ago, the Warriors President, Paul Stewart, played 5 years of high school football at Sir Robert Borden H.S. with a friend named David Rheaume. His father was a well-known Cabinet Minister (Eugene Rheaume) and his large family have left quite a legacy in the Ottawa region especially when it comes to the artistic community.
Paul’s wife Darlene commissioned Dave to paint an original painting for his 50th birthday a few years ago. Recently, the Warriors reached out to the award-winning artist to see if he’d donate a print to our Bell Warriors 4th Annual Fundraiser Silent Auction and he didn’t hesitate.
It is a signed original print of Dave’s painting “The Touchdown”. The print is a “hand-embellished gyclee print on canvas” which gives it a very realistic impact. David, who now resides in Toronto, continues to gain accolades as an artist and clearly still embraces the importance of giving back to community. “The Bell Warriors work hard on the field to mentor our local youth and work hard off the field to raise funds to keep our great sport affordable for all. Having a talent like Dave Rheaume make such a valuable donation to our 4th Annual Fundraiser Silent Auction is impressive and very much appreciated” – Paul Stewart, Bell Warriors Football Club President.
