Our 64th Bell Warriors Team Banquets were held this past weekend and as
always, both events were a huge celebration of youth sports; of our … …

Now was it CHILI or was it HOT? Well it was a little of both!
Whiprsnapr Brewing Co. hosted a very-well timed Chili Contest Fundraiser this past Sunday with all funds raised going to our Bell Warriors. We packed their brewery and tasted away. Some were savoury. Some were spicy. One even tasted like a black forest chocolate cherry chili and it was oddly amazing. We all sampled some of their many craft-brewed beer (which is top notch) and enjoyed watching the CFL Grey Cup semi-finals on their big screen. It was perfect!
Big thank you to Ian McMartin of Whiprsnapr Brewing Co. and our very own Keith Stuart (Warriors Mosquito Head Coach) for setting up this great day. We also took home some funds to help support our young Warriors. Football is all about having a passion for life and acting with distinction. Our friends at Whiprsnapr and Keith and his family clearly get that. THANK YOU!
Oh yes… … CONGRATS to AVERY STUART, a fearless Mosquito Warriors player, who (with a little help from his Grandma) was selected as the Honourable Mention Champion Chili contestant. This may have to be an annual event (if I have anything to say about this)!

L to R: Paul Stewart (President) and Keith Stuart (Mosquito Head Coach & Fundraiser Organizer)

Avery Stuart (Mosquito Warriors Captain) was named the Hon. Men. Chili Contest Champion.
Free to enter. $5 cash for tasting with proceeds to the Bell Warriors Football Club.
Winner gets a $20 gift certificate and all entrants get a beer thanks to Whiprsnapr and while your there, there will be CFL Semi-Finals on their big screen!
They’re back!!! The Warriors have a separate Silent Auction at both of our Team Banquets – the Tyke/Mosquito Brunch Banquet and the Pee Wee/Bantam Dinner Banquet. This has become a very important fundraiser for our club …. and it’s a lot of fun.
The Warriors do everything we can to grow our sport with a goal to make our great sport affordable and accessible to all. We supply all of the equipment while keeping our fees at a ceiling of $350-$400 (depending on the level). Our player fees do not come close to covering our operating costs so we are obliged to reach out to the community if we are to accomplish our key goals. Our Annual Warriors Silent Auctions have become an important part of our fundraising efforts.
Make an important donation and be sure to bid often to show your support for our players and program. Contact info@bellwarriors.ca for more details to show you support for our young players.

NCAFA and OSEG are looking for 50/ 50 sellers during Redblack games.
As you may know, OSEG has partnered up with NCAFA to raise money for the OSEG Foundation. NCAFA is very lucky to have an organisation like OSEG supporting minor football. Part of the proceeds from the RedBlacks 50/50 goes to every club within NCAFA to help offset equipment costs, and by extension, keeping minor football the cheapest and most accessible sport for kids in Ottawa.
This is an opportunity for you to help out your club and the league by working 4-9 RedBlack home games, while being paid for your time by OSEG.
Gawain Harding, President of the Gatineau Vikings and NCAFA Executive says, “I’ve been doing this for the last 3 years and I have enjoyed the experience greatly. It’s a fun way to give back. The time passes quick. And selling 50/50 tickets is allot easier than you think it is. People want to buy 50/50 tickets. You just need to be active and vocal for 3 hours.”
The OSEG Foundation and NCAFA will be having a second orientation session on:
TUESDAY, JUNE 11th at TD PLACE CLICK HERE if interested
We need to get as many people who are interested out on that date. Candidates should be:
- Must be outgoing – approaching strangers may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but sometimes meeting new people can be fun and rewarding!
- Cash handling is a must – selling raffle tickets in $5, $10 and $20 increments sometimes calls for math on site. Top sellers last season sold over $4,000 per game! That’s a lot of cash!
- Willing to help make a difference – 50% of the pot does go to one lucky fan, but the real reason for the raffle is for the 50% that is donated to the OSEG Foundation.
It’s time to step up. For more details, you can also email us at info@bellwarriors.ca.
Our 23rd Annual Warriors Fundraiser Golf Tournament has come and gone and we had one heck of a day. We were at Amberwood Golf and Country Club again this year and the course and weather could not have been better.
Our club is built on selfless commitment of our families so having a day where we actually have some fun together and get to know each other a little better is important….and there was no shortage of camaraderie and fun. What a day of celebrations the Warriors had. Our annual Team Banquets is so much more than just an award ceremony (but it is important to celebrate excellence too). Our Club has a very simple recipe to succeed that we embrace globally. …and that is……to work hard to challenge ourselves, to always strive to learn from our mistakes, to never get discouraged, to strive to grow and as importantly, realize that our actions impact those around us. If you follow our simple recipe, your actions will not only inevitably lead to your success, they will lead to successes of all your teammates who you inspire and motivate. There is lots to celebrate when we do that and ultimately, this is what our Warriors celebrated Saturday at our day long of hosting of two annual Team Banquets.
In conjunction with our Banquets, the Warriors hosted two Silent Auctions. Our 6th annual fundraisers represent a labour of love that has become a huge fundraiser for the Club …. and it’s become a lot of fun too. A big THANK YOU to all of our Donors:
For all of our volunteers that helped with the setup, administration and tear down of the auctions, THANK YOU. Your hard work helped us raise a record $6,500 for our Warriors!
Of course the two events are also a celebration of our players that truly excelled this year. To all of our players that competed this year, congratulations on dedicating yourselves the Warriors Way. Many of you are familiar with Zack Statham-Souliere who played for us from tyke through bantam playing his last year with the Warriors in 2015. His mother and father Karin Statham and Guy Souliere were huge contributors to our world-famous canteen for years. Uncle Scotty has coached multiple levels for years. His son Logan (Zack’s 1st cousin) played as well all the way through our program and still helps out with our bantams. Scotty’s wife was a team manager and an unreal volunteer while her and Scotty’s daugther Makayla was our inaugural Volunteer of the Year!
The Warriors just learned recently that Zack is in a battle with leukemia and started the chemotherapy the day after he found out. Warriors are all about supporting our players on and off the field. We will be combining a fundraiser with our Warriors Annual Homecoming Day this year October 15. More details will follow. We also want to bring your attention to a Go Fund Me account that has been opened up to help the Zack and his family with costs that will surely be incurred while he fights his battle. Click on this link to show your support for Zack and his family: #ZackStrong Leukemia Fight
Thanks for showing you care!
We couldn’t have asked for a nicer day for 22nd Annual Bell Warriors Golf Tournament Fundraiser on July 22nd. The annual event was held at the Amberwood Village Golf & Country Club in the heart of Stittsville again this year. Although our numbers were a little down this year, our corporate support couldn’t have been better and a great time was had by all.
Special thanks has to go out to Dan Crabtree, this year’s fundraiser event organizer, who accumulated more corporate sponsorship than we’ve ever had before. Dan also added some special features that really made for a special day for those in attendance including a very nice cigar sale and raw oyster hole. That was awesome. This year’s generous hole sponsors were:

Central Building Corporation
Holliswealth – Greg Clarke & Dan Crabtree
Jennifer McGahan Interiors
King’s Independent – Chris King

The Harris and Adams families are always smiling and in attendance.

Admittedly not a golfer, Chrisitine Lavigne isn’t afraid to step up to help out whenever help is required. A great Warriors mom!

A Warriors event wouldn’t be the same without the Schwartz family. Youngest Steven, who turned 17 that day, was enjoying the day with his dad Ken and mom Carmen who was behind the camera. What a great family!

L to R Jake Papalia, Tim Sheahan (VP), Carl-Andre Potier (Coach) and Paul Stewart (bad golfer)

Thanks to everyone was able to make it out!

University of Western Mustangs alumni and ’16 Bantam Special Teams & DB Coach Carl-André Potier has just become our newest Friend of the Warriors Sponsor! Not only did Coach Carl-André dedicate his summer and fall coaching our Warriors Bantams, he donated a signed Edmonton Eskimos jersey to our 5th Annual Bell Warriors Silent Auction. A very respectful and valued young man, Mr. Potier also took the occasion to present our Bell Warriors with a cheque to formally become a FRIEND OF THE WARRIORS Sponsor.

THANK YOU for giving back to our community’s youth and our Warriors Club Carl-André!
The 5th Annual Bell Warriors Silent Auctions were held in conjunction with our annual team banquets Saturday, January 7th at The Ale – Amberwood Lounge & Eatery. The new location for our banquets combined with a very competitive group of parents led to a record-setting two events. In all, when we took in revenues from the Raffles and Silent Auctions from our Tyke/Mosquito Awards Brunch and Pee Wee/Bantam Dinner, the Warriors brought in over $6,000 which will be set aside to ensure we keep our club and sport “Affordable for All“.

1st of two Silent Auctions are set up and ready for the onslaught of excited bidders.

The competitive scrutiny begins at our Record-Breaking Silent Auctions!

Some of our many door prizes which included a really-nice Warriors Helmet signed by the entire Warriors Mosquito team. What a great keepsake!

Some late items for our annual Raffle which included this very nice basket from Coach Normand Fortier (or Pattison Outdoor Advertising) and a terrific “Warriors Cake” made especially for our event by The Sweet Room Bakery and Boutique (of Stittsville)

Our RAFFLE which included a fantastic BBQ donated by Brown’s Independent Grocer in Stittsville
To everyone who helped line-up donations, organize the auctions, donated to our fundraiser and bought items, we say a huge THANK YOU! #warriors4life
Diane Forsyth, whose husband Geoff is the head coach at our Mosquito level, spent over 100 hours last fall making a hand-made queen-sized quilt which she has aptly named “Warriors Pride“. Blazen in Warrior colours, this magnificent keep-sake was independently appraised at $1,000!
The quilt was donated to the Warriors last Christmas to help raise funds to offset player fee shortfalls and the Warriors sold raffle tickets for it all season. “The support for the raffle was fantastic. I think the club and community recognized the effort it took to make this quilt and wanted to make sure that our fundraiser was a huge success….and that it was! At the recent Volunteer Appreciation Night, Warriors’ VP Dan Crabtree announced that over $1,400 had been raised with the raffle! We couldn’t be happier with the way the raffle went” states Paul Stewart, Bell Warriors President.

From L to R: Tim Sheahan (VP of Operations), Paul Stewart (President), Diane Forsyth (who made and donated the quilt aptly named ‘Warriors Pride’) and Dan Crabtree (VP of Finance)
The winner of the Warriors Pride quilt raffle was none other than the long-time head coach of our Tyke team, our 2015 Volunteer of the Year Brian Patterson. CONGRATS Brian and we can’t thank you enough Diane for your kind and thoughtful support of our Warriors. THANK YOU!
