The Warriors are proud to announce that the 17th, 18th, 19th and now 20th Warrior alumni from recent years have just committed to play football at the next level!

#17    Brad Cowan

“Brad Cowan was a standout Warrior player for years winning Outstanding Linebacker at Pee Wee and Most Improved Player his first year of Bantam.  An unfortunate ankle injury prohibited him from playing for most of his last year as a Warrior.  One thing I always appreciated in my years coaching Brad was that he had great football instincts and was very athletic and agile for such a big young man.  It was a shame he missed out on most of his final Bantam year but he worked hard in the off-season to be ready for his 1^st year at Midget.  He made the most of his opportunity ultimately winning the Rookie of the Year with our sister club the Bel-Air Norsmen and the NCAFA League Championship while catching the eye of CIS recruiters.  The Warriors are proud of Brad and know he’ll thrive at Laurier University as a Golden Hawk.”

#18    Jack Rabb

Jack Rabb of Richmond has recently committed to play football at the next level with the  University of Queen’s Gaels.  Jack is a gifted student from South Carleton who has been awarded the Silver Medal which signifies an average of 90% or over.  It’s his prowess on the gridiron, however, which has earned him a coveted spot with the Gaels of Kingston.  Jack is another product of the Bell Warriors Football Club.  He started playing football 6 years ago at the age of 12 with the Warriors and soon became a reliable receiver, QB, punter and kicker.  “Jack was a great young man to coach. He is an immensely positive and cerebral player that competes hard and has a knack of making plays under pressure.  At 6’ 4” tall, Jack is a hard target to miss on routes.  He also has a CIS level leg already and it wouldn’t surprise me if he becomes a standout punter for the Gaels.  Playing football at the next level is a big opportunity for a young student athlete.  Jack is the 18^th Warrior alumni to commit to play NCAA or CIS football in the past few years.  We’re proud that so many of our players have enjoyed success playing football and are being given an opportunity to continue playing the sport they love while getting a post-secondary education.”

#19    Ross Polito

Ross Polito of Stittsville has just committed to join the York University Lions.  Ross was a major award winner at every level with the Warriors and capped his time with the club winning the inaugural Bantam Leadership Award in his last Warrior season.  At the Midget level (ages 17-19), the Warriors join with the neighbouring Bel-Air Club to field the Bel-Air Norsemen.  Ross played for the Norsemen this past year and was an important part of their NCAFA Championship team.  “I’ve known Ross for a long time and have had the pleasure of coaching him at all 4 Warrior age groups.  What he didn’t have in size when he started with us, he more than made up for with his courage, dedication, competitiveness and smarts.  You always knew you could trust him in pressure situations to make a play and he was like a coach on the field.  I couldn’t be happier for him to be able to play at the next level”  Ross makes the 19th commit from recent years from the Warriors.  He joins Jack Rabb of Richmond (Queens) and Brad Cowan of Asthon (Laurier) who were the 17^th and 18^th commits.

#20   Quinn Stewart

Quinn Stewart of Richmond has made the decision to commit to the St FX X-Men of Antigonish, Nova Scotia.   Quinn played 9 years with the Warriors and was a 5 time major award winner including a 3 time MVP.  The last two years he was with the Norsemen.  He finished his 11^th year of football this year by winning the NCAFA Midget Championship with his Norsemen teammates Jack, Brad and Ross.  Quinn’s final NCAFA season was capped by being named to the NCAFA All-Star team (for the third time), the Norsemen’s MVP Award and NCAFA Midget Most Outstanding Offensive Player Award.  Tim Sheahan, Warriors VP who coached Quinn for years, states “Quinn Stewart was a decorated Bell Warrior, winning Defensive and Offensive Player of-the-year honours as well as MVP honours at several levels. He was one of only a small handful of players that played 9 years of football for our club. He was talented for sure; as a defensive player in his early years , he was responsible to his position and an outstanding form tackler. He excelled as an offensive player because of his “smarts “ for the game. Quinn has a strong arm and deceptive, powerful speed, which made him the obvious choice as our field leader at QB.  As Quinn matured as a player, his abilities grew, but his most outstanding quality is that of team leader.  His team mates followed his lead as he competed in practice every single night, and his polished skills allowed him to succeed on the field on game days.  Our club has graduated many players on to the CIS , but none with the number of wins that Quinn was part of in his 9 years.”
